Hello adventurers! We have a multi-item update for you today, so apologies for the silence these last few days as we compiled things (but I do hope you’ve enjoyed the pictures on Twitter - we have a box house!). I really hope everyone is doing well, and as always, if you have any questions, please let me know via email ([email protected]).

Shipping Lock Down: Happening Soon!

First and foremost: The final date to change your shipping address is July 15th. We will be finalizing all addresses so we can start processing shipping on the 16th. Please check and double check those if you have any location adjustments happening during late August and early September.

You all should have gotten a receipt after finishing your survey. If the address there looks to be incorrect, you can access your BackerKit survey here (please note: Indiegogo orders were imported over, so please be sure that BK is updated, not IGG). If you’re having trouble with the system, please email me - I can help!

Wintersday Zine 2018

Secondly, a fun item for fellow creatives: if you’re a creator of Guild Wars 2 creative content, we may be looking for you to join our annual winter project. Journeys, our 2018 Wintersday Zine, currently has applications open for all styles of artists, writers and comic creators. It is produced and run under my Creative Partnership with ArenaNet, and is also sponsored.

The book is split into three sections based on the theme: the base game, Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire. The contributors participating are depicting or telling the story of what impacted them or stayed with them as they played the game through the respective sections, from the newness of just starting out, to rushing to get a griffon, to trying jumping puzzles for the first time.

We have posts on Tumblr, Twitter and Instagram if you’re able to help share, and if you’re interested in potentially ordering a copy, you can get on the signup here.

Due to the fact that we have a very short turnaround, we will have a very strict run count for both NA and international to make sure we get those out in time (about a third of the quantity of Tyrian Tarot). It will be first-come, first-serve, but the email signup will alert you when it’s live.

We really appreciate all of your support in our next charity project, and hope to see you there if you enjoy what you see in Tyrian Tarot. The apps for that project close in just under 2 weeks.

Production & Shipping Update!

If you’ve been following us on Twitter, you probably have seen some of my smaller picture updates on what we’re doing (Feel free to continue watching! We’ll post little tidbits there). I’ve formally started the process of getting everything together! It’s very exciting (also a tiny bit daunting).

That said, for an assortment of over 30,000 individual items, it will take almost the full 2 months to get everything together. So while you’ll see many of the packages come together earlier, we’ll be holding onto them to do shipments by group to be fair. Each package is built, assembled, sleeved and checked by human hands (with love), so it does take some time. Our original estimates for end of August were based on 750 orders... so we're pushing hard to see over 3,000 shipped in the same time frame.

The first packages are still slated for the end of August right before the anniversary and early September, as originally noted. It still highly depends on overseas manufacturing and potentially getting held up in various spots along the chain. We’ll do our best in this regard, but until it hits our doors, slow post times (and the uncertainty that comes with it) remains… but we are hopeful that everything will go well.

However, what we have gotten so far is beautiful. We’ve already processed all of the prints (almost 2,000 of them), and are about halfway through processing the first set of regular postcards.

A few of our prints.

Lots and lots and lots of postcards.

In addition, we’ve been getting some photo updates from our various manufacturers… so here are a few of them.

Note: Black Lion Trading Coin pin. This is much like a coin, with recessed metal.

Note: Catmander Griffon - this will be plated with gold. You can see the zinc metal here.

Note: It glows! :D This doesn’t have its plating in this photo, but we wanted to show it off.

In other things, there are a lot of boxes to assemble. There was definitely a box fort on the table somewhere… or two or ten of them. It’d be fun to take lunch breaks in there (a good use of time, I’m sure).

Just a few?

The Print Shop

As many of you have seen, we got our smaller prints last month. If you’ve been wanting the larger prints, that print store is running until July 15th, and we’ll be placing our orders on the following day.

These include more than just card art, including environment pieces and more. These are all archival prints and ship in September, and we do take custom orders if you see something you’d like with a white trim or a different size!

All of the proceeds of these sales go to the artists.

>>> You can visit the print store here.

These are all available as larger prints!

And so are these! You know you want a huge Joko all over your wall.

That’s all for now, so thank you for tuning in! Hoping to bring you more exciting things soon. :)

Hey everyone:

As promised, the Print Store is open! I’ve decided to host this on BigCartel, as this is a separate transaction stream than the main campaign. (For those unfamiliar, this is also our platform for the Wintersday Zine as well.)

>>>>> Click here for the store. It will be open through July 15th. We take Paypal and Stripe, and ship internationally.

Shipping for the first print is $10/$12.50 (dependent on base size), while any additional prints are $2 added to the shipping cost, additional to the base cost of the print. These prints ship separate from Tyrian Tarot and will be mailed out in mid-September.

These prints are not limited at the moment, but I may cut off availability if I find that demand is beyond what distribution can handle. (Probably around ~200 prints between NA/internationally.)

Please note that these are fine art prints. I understand that they might seem pricey to some, but the sticker price you see is due to the fact that they’re much better quality than anything you’d print off your home-office printer, on paper stocks that are meant for framing and showcasing that should last the better part of a lifetime.

The net proceeds of these prints after production and shipping & handling go to the artists to painted them (and they can choose whether they’d like to take or donate the net).

The options are:

>> 8”x12” - 20 options - $22.50

>> 11”x17” - 14 options - $35

>> 8”x10” - mixed pack - 2 environment pieces for $25, or 6 (all) for $55

>> 15”x20” - Isvoc’s Book Cover, no adornments (original design) - $60

>> Custom sizes and custom formats (including white paper trims for framing) are also available at higher prices (due to custom sizings being more expensive). Please send an email to [email protected] if you have an inquiry.

Please click the links above to check what is available (below is the grid for 8"x12" prints).

Other Items:

In other news, almost all of our items are in production or are in the mail on the way here. There aren’t any pictures just yet, but we will update you when they are available.

For those of you that follow the Wintersday Zine, applications for that open July 1st. More information, if you’re interested in contributing, can be found here.

Hello all of you Tyrian adventurers:

We have a relatively short & snappy update for you today, mostly concerning prints and the print store.

Prints:

We got our initial proofs late last week for the prints offered within the campaign, and they really turned out well! We tested a few paper qualities (all fine art and above quality, with archival inks on all), but were mostly checking to make sure that the balances were correct.

Printing, if you're not familiar, is an interesting process. Even with a print monitor calibration, you can still see variances due to how inks sit. It's actually something we try to teach with people who work with us - it's different than approaching a piece that's solely digital.

That said, these were definitely a go! We submitted our full orders for these over the weekend. I know a few of you had questions on what you could swap around - if you still have questions, feel free to let us know. There's a chance we can help you still (but no promises, as things are ordered).

(Look at that claw!)

The Print Store:

I've done a slight bit of reorganizing with our print store, but we do have some details for you below. As many of you know with our announcement last week, I will be allowing for EU orders, but it's put a delay on the system (as I have to calculate a few more costs that we don't have in the system). I apologize for all of you that were waiting on it, but I hope you understand that all of production of TT falls on a single person (me) and currently that is prioritized over the print store so I can get everything to you.

The orders, as previously announced, ship separately from the bundles in the campaign, and the slight delay should not impact when or how they would have shipped out.

I anticipate the store going up on June 25th, and staying open until July 15th.  There will be no caps on U.S. orders, but there might be a cap on EU orders. Currently it's undetermined (sorry!). All of these prints will most likely arrive in September so please keep that in mind.

That said, we've done some slight adjustment on sizes, as we found that the original listed crops didn't favor the images due to the native sizing:

>> 8"x12"
>> 11"x17"

Those are the main two sizings, but we will also have a custom option if you'd like to have white matting space, or if you have a specific size request (the cost will be much higher than the defaults, but we still can do it).

The proceeds of these go to the original artist after the net is paid and S&H is dealt with.

I really hope you're excited for the prints! It's just one of the many proofs/prototypes that will be coming in during the next few weeks, and I'll definitely continue to keep you up to date with pictures of the items. :D

Related notes:

We have a giveaway going of a rainbow assortment of prints for Pride Month on Tumblr and Twitter. Check them out!

Hope you're having a fantastic start to the week!

Hello Commanders!

This is just a reminder that we will begin the survey lockdown process in a few hours (midnight EST through the next 24 hours). This is also when your credit cards will be charged for add-ons (PayPal was charged at checkout). If something fails, you'll be notified via email - please make sure to fix any errors if they occur!

Once your survey has been locked, there are no changes that can be made to add-ons.

Some notes:

  • You would have gotten an email from us if there was something amiss with your survey. Please respond to it if you have any issues - we're happy to help! There are 4% of you that haven't responded.

  • In some cases, a few of you reactivated your surveys accidentally and got our reminder email - just email us back saying that you think you've finished it, and we'll take a look.

  • Shipping can be changed through mid-July - we'll give a week heads up before we lock that down.

If you didn't get an email from us, you're all set! There's nothing you need to do.

Lastly, we've pulled down most of the items (the packages) in the store. We sold out of all of our overrun decks. You're still free to tip the moderation if you'd like (it goes to our coffee funds) or get larger prints (we're adding those on the 16th). :D

Thank you!

Hello to all of our Commanders:

We have a reminder and date-based update today, with one product image! The next updates, when they happen, will have more entertaining things – we assure you that there’s a crazy amount of production going on behind the scenes to be excited about. :D

I’m sure you guys are wondering how we sit charity wise. It’s a tricky number to estimate as the Indiegogo campaign number includes shipping costs (not just unit), as well as that fees change with an explosive campaign. Numbers are in a state of flux until we formally pay them, but in ways we normally anticipate with logistics. However, donation numbers aren't promises I make lightly.

However, almost all of my numbers have been accurate so far in post-campaign, and I’m happy to say that we’re looking at, at minimum, around $30,000 directly to the International Fund for Animal Welfare.

I will continue updating you on those numbers as more things are paid (and thus potential loss leaves the system). It will only go upward from that figure. :)

Upcoming dates:

.......Surveys close June 11th – 5 Days!! We have 92% of surveys completed – Please note that all surveys that are not filled out will have credit names become anonymous, and if you haven’t picked out items, we’ll be resetting it back to the original options.

No add-ons will be available after this time with your original orders. So get them in! (We will be emailing all parties impacted - please email back if you’re confused! It’s a human at the other end (me) who can help.)

.......Single Tyrian Tarot bundles and packages in the post-campaign store close June 11th.

.......Larger prints (8”x10” and 11”x14” with borders) for the U.S./CAN will go up on June 16th in the post-campaign store. These ship separately from the decks. The net for these prints do not go to charity unless the artist chooses to donate them; this was an opt-in that we offered to artists who volunteered their work to continue pursuing their crafts. (Some are, however, donating their proceeds.)

Due to demand, we’re evaluating if we can do the EU as well. It’s unfortunately a taxing extra process, so to keep with our time constraints, balance upcoming projects, and (honestly) personal fatigue, it’s something I’m considering carefully and thus cannot promise anything.

Production update:

Gloriously, everything is still on track! We’ve been the official production with most items in the campaign, either with getting prototypes made or making the finals. We’ll post updates with images on Twitter and Tumblr when we have them.

One of our prototype sets came in earlier today, which are the vinyl stickers that were an exclusive to the campaign, added for free to all TT bundles. We’ve decided to make some fine adjustments (adding foil to the text and swapping to a more durable synthetic/water-resistant paper). It will have a similar matte texture.

We’ll definitely provide more photos as we get them!

The biggest item that we’ve been working hard at getting nailed down is the tarot cloth. We’ve been blown away by how many people liked it. We’ve been talking to professional cloth designers that have done work for famous brands, and they’ve weighed in with fabric choices that would most bring out the gold in our design, as well as complimenting the matte textures. I come from a publishing background, so it’d been fun to consider their evaluations (the cotton was less durable than some other options, so we're evaluating options) -- We’ll have a prototype in a few week’s time; we'll definitely share it if we're happy with it. :D

Other projects:

As many of you know, the Collective produces two projects – the summer project (Tyrian Tarot this year) and the Wintersday Zine (which occurs every year with a different theme). It is the opposite of the summer project in a few ways – it is open to all styles (and we purposefully hunt for talented variety) and is open to original characters/narration.

That said, if you’re wondering why I’m mentioning it... it’s about that time! Applications for the project open on July 1 (and previous collective members in good standing have been notified of interest requests). If you’re not following the Twitter and Tumblr, please do so! We're looking for anyone from illustrators to writers to comic artists to traditional medium creatives. More info on posts there. :)

(As an aside: Both projects fall in side by side easily due to how the production cycles work, so don't fret. It just means we constantly have something moving in the background. :D)

Thanks for tuning in to this update! We hope you're all having a lovely Wednesday!

- Z.
